Australian sales charts, week ending 07/09/08

PALGN News | Can Spore take it to Wii Fit?
No, as it turns out. Still ruling top spot with a fist of iron is Nintendo's Wii Fit, continuing to be one of the most popular games since we started reporting these charts. Spore, the highly anticipated new PC creation game from Sims man Will Wright, debuted in a rather solid second place, pushing the Wii remote/Wii Play package back into its native third place after a week in second. The racing antics of Mario Kart Wii managed to gain an extra place on last week's finish to close at fourth, which pushed Nintendo DS mind masher Brain Training down to fifth. Apparently, it will never stop selling.

The bottom half of the charts are a rather positive affair, with all games moving up and none moving down. The first of which is Nintendo beat 'em up Super Smash Bros. Brawl, moving up two spots from eight to six. Inexplicably, the DS version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games made a return to the charts in seventh place, despite the Olympics being well and truly over. Rising one spot to eight is the latest in an incredibly long line of Sims 2 expansions, Apartment Life. Right behind it is More Brain Training, which despite not being quite as popular as its older brother, simply refuses to go away. In tenth place, it's the Guitar Hero III double pack for the Nintendo Wii.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

Having just tried Wii Fit for the first time last week, I can see why it is so popular. I'd probably buy it for a laugh. If I had a Wii.

Who wants to give me a Wii?

Games are still being released on GBA? Why????

I still can't believe Nintendo are dominating the charts this badly, I wish I was still a fanboy so I could rub it in my PS friends faces. But unfortunately now I like PS too hahaha

Well think about it, the more money Nintendo has, the better their next console could potentially be.
