Guitar Hero World Tour Australian release date announced

PALGN News | Activision says November the 12th.
Reports out of New Zealand, from Activision’s annual Activate event, are advising that Guitar Hero World Tour is to be released in Australia and New Zealand on November the 12th. Confirmation of release dates for the rest of the world have yet to be announced.

According to AusGamers, Activision have also confirmed four new tracks, including Australia’s own The Living End with their hit song, ‘Prisoner of Society’. Other reported new tracks are ‘Scream Aim Fire’ by Bullet for My Valentine, ‘Our Truth’ by Lacuna Coil and ‘La Bamba’ by Los Lobos.

As previously outlined, Guitar Hero World Tour will be expanding the playing experience by offering vocals and drums in addition to the usual guitar options. No details on pricing for the multi-instrument version of the franchise have emerged yet however.

Cannot wait.

Is this for all systems?

The date is all and fine, but what I really want to know is how much the game and kit will cost.
I need to know how many of my vital organs I need to sell to afford everything.

This really shows how utterly crap EA have been with the way they've handled Rock Band. Activision are able to put out their band-in-a-box game within two weeks of the US release, with properly built instruments. And the price rumoured for the instrument bundle is about $80 less than Rock Band, too. Meanwhile EA are struggling to get the game out here at all, a year down the track, and expect to be able to flog off their old, broken instrument packs on us while we watch as the US gets a brand new iteration of the game with fixed, less breakable instrument peripherals and a generally better experience.

Guitar Hero: WT is going to smoke Rock Band outside the US, even though I'm pretty sure that RB is the better game. icon_confused.gif

Awesome date, now give us an awesome price and we're all set.

The perfect date for two reasons: We don't get screwed up the arse like EA have done to us and it comes out just around the start of the holidays. That's two boxes ticked...I just hope that the price is reasonable.

Two Reasons why this date is BAD -
Gears of War is out on the 7th and Resistance is out on the 6th - HOW WILL I PLAY THIS AS WELL -
I was planning on taking a week off from the 6th -
now this will have to be 2 weeks!!
My boss will love me...

Yeehaw cant wait, if the price is rumoured cheaper thats awesome too.

as a note i work at dick smith powerhouse, and rock band stuff is on our computers, the instraments for 269 and game for 112, i think, instraments could have been 279. Dunno bout release date (and note you will likely find it cheaper elsewhere)

so if worl tour is cheaper in both ways, and you shop around, it could be easily affordable and withing what i'm willing to pay icon_smile.gif which is roughly 250-ish.

Bring it on, with rock band be compatible with world tour instraments? cause i still wanna get rock band though, but the instraments for world tour are much better and more standard across the board.

Ok, im really, really, really mad.

Ther ehas been no real great game since like Gta which was out months ago, now from the short space of october-november, we have:

Saints row 2 (must buy)
Fable 2 (must buy)
Fallout 3 (must buy)
Skate 2 (ill get it at some point)
Gears of war 2 (must buy)

now this! how the hell is anyone mant to afford it! learn tospread it out guys!

the plus? holidays start 2 weeks early for some reason (im in year 10 and after SC we have nothing or whatever) so looks like im gunna get fat playing video games.

Go the Living End, they were sorely missed in gh3. Pity I will have no chance at actually being able to play Prisoner of Society, but it'll be fun trying!

Holy... Rock Band just got offically screwed.

In Australia, Guitar Hero reigns supreme. This will prove to EA that you don't mess with PAL regions.

price?

GAME has stated the Wii bundle version for this game will be $330, hopefully it is cheaper, cause I want it and I have alot of other games from September - November that I have already committed to purchasing.

Not a bad date for me. Not that interested in all these other must buy titles people are mentioning (maybe resistance 2 ) and i have my B'day at the end of November. Maybe i can get someone to help pay it off with me.
Hope the PS3/360 version isn't priced too badly ($330 that zeldamario mentions for the wii version isn't as heavy as i was expecting, especialy if it contains the game).

$299 or bust

How can we afford to buy all these great games coming out so close to each other? all i can say is thankgod i have a part time job, so i'll have money to get them, and time to play em all through the holidays woo :)

though the only absolute must havs on my list are fable 2 and gow 2, fable is one of my all time favs, so must have it.

And yes thankyouuuu for the living end. but c'mon, they have some absolutely sweeeeeet guitar tracks off the new album, not to mention drum as well.

All I can say is a big HELL YEAH to the term: "Market Competition". It's amazing what seemingly huge hurdles a business minded company like Activision (who spent a PACKET on acquiring the Guitar Hero license by the way) can tackle when taking people's money is involved..

I wouldnt call it "struggling".. more like not giving two hoots about the Australian territory. The whole Medal of Honor Heroes 2 debacle with the Wii proves that case to point rather well..

Velocity sensitive drums, the ability to create your own custom songs, touchpads on the new guitars, customisable drums sets, guitars and microphones ingame in addition to customisable player characters.. it doesnt surprise me to see EA scrambling Harmonix so soon to try and outdo what World Tour has to offer with a sequel. I'd hate to be an owner of Rock Band now knowing that better hardware is on the way. Talk about being left in the proverbial dust!

Roll on Activision. Your intentions aren't exactly pure, but it's good to see you give a damn about our money and are willing to deliver a product that truly earns it.

Sweet!

Harmonix must be shitting at EA at the moment! Rock Band 2 will arrive in the states before Rock Band 1 makes it here, and so will Guitar Hero: World Tour.

If Rock Band ended up showing on time here, the Guitar Hero franchise would have been dealt a blow, but thanks to EA, its still going to dominate AUS.

Nice, looking forward to eating cardboard while I enjoy these games.
