LittleBigPlanet developer scouting for talent

PALGN News | Get creative, get hired?
LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule has intimated that the best and brightest level-designers of the game's online community may be recruited or commissioned to create special content for the title.

Pete Smith, producer at Media Molecule, suggested in a forthcoming interview with CVG that '[they] will be aware of who those awesome designers are and certainly there's the potential to get them building levels as part of the dev team.'

Smith goes on to suggest an even more interesting prospect, namely that the game's user-created content could serve as the ultimate resume and lead to a position with the developer. Speaking of the game's online community, Smith said that '[they'll] be watching it closely, because it'll be a great way for us to recruit great new designers.'

All those fancying a position with the UK developer may want to start getting creative in preparation of the release of LittleBigPlanet in October.

Sweet, cant wait to start working with this game. I'm a creative nut myself and I'll be spending hours making games for the community.

Valve do this too.

The creator of Minerva, a "mod" (pretty much just a few levels) for HL2, was hired by them and is now working on Ep3.

Not to mention all the other mod teams they've brought on board.

can't help being cynical but is this an incentive to boost sales!! -
Surely they can release a demo and tools with it and have a best design comp instead of doing this ...
