No digital release for LittleBigPlanet

PALGN News | PSN release not on the cards.
Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet is one of the biggest Playstation 3 titles of the year, and throughout its development there has been speculation that the title would receive a release on the Playstation Network via digital distribution. Hardly surprising, given Sony's touting the game's focus on user-generated content.

However Joystiq is reporting that upon contacting the US PR Manager for LittleBigPlanet, Scott Goryl, they were informed that the title itself would be distributed only on Blu-ray Disc for sale in brick and mortar outlets

"LBP will utilize much of PlayStation Network's vast functionality for online and community features," stated Goryl, "but the game will indeed be distributed as a Blu-ray Disc."

No digital release is surprising in light of the fact that Criterion and EA have recently announced that Burnout Paradise will be seeing a PSN release later this year, and Sony's continuing focus on digital distribution.

Isn't LBP meant to be a full Blu Ray's worth of content? If that were the case it would take forever to download. Burnout Paradise would be a only few GBs in comparison.

Correct me if I'm wrong about the content...
