Australian sales charts, week ending 10/08/08
PALGN News | Nintendo wins the gold. And the silver. And the bronze.

Olympic fever has gripped the world, and, in the hope of one day being able to nab a medal of their own, people have flocked to their local gaming emporium and purchased Wii Fit by the truckload. Well, that's our theory, anyway. At second place is the Wiimote - sorry, Wii Play, followed closely by the rather sporty Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games in third, enjoying a rather large spurt in sales that might just have something to do with the Olympics. Mario Kart Wii's rather erratic driving around the charts has resulted in it ending up fourth, with Super Smash Bros. Brawl fighting its way into fifth place, to make the top five all Wii.
The Nintendo DS version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is present and accounted for at six, with Brain Training continuing its quest to train the world right behind it at number seven. The big men with giant swords and small women with big, uh, weapons in SoulCalibur IV on the PS3 are the order of the day at eight. Grand Theft Auto IV - again on the PS3 - has killed off a horde of games in its quest to get back in the charts in ninth place. Beijing Olympics 2008 in tenth place makes it three Olympic games in the top ten.
The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.
