Australian sales charts, week ending 27/07/08
PALGN News | Mario and Sonic at number one.

Given that the 2008 Beijing Olympic games are imminent, this week's new number one is in no way, shape or form surprising. It's Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games on the Nintendo DS, still continuing to enjoy high sales months after release. Making its chart debut in second place is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, showing that Lego's popularity will never die. Wii Play fell a spot from last week to close the week at three - the demand for Wiimotes shows no sign of abating. Coming in at number four is [i]Wii Fit, making a return to the charts after a brief absence. At five is the only non-Nintendo game in the charts in the form of the PlayStation 3's Singstar: Party Hits bundle, which comes complete with microphones.
Mario Kart Wii suffered its second consecutive fall this week, dropping from third to sixth place. Brain Training also fell this week, but only two places to seventh - rather good for a game that has been kicking around the charts for what seems like forever. Suffering the biggest fall of the week is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, dropping all the way from the top spot to a comparatively low eighth place. Bucking the trend and actually moving up in the world is More Brain Training, up a place to nine. Surprisingly low at 10 is the Wii version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, but you can bet we will be seeing more from this one in the coming weeks.
