Australian sales charts, week ending 20/07/08

PALGN News | A few new names join the charts this week.
There's no change at the top this week, with the Wii's favourite scrapper, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, sitting perched above the great unwashed at one. Moving up in the world is Wii Play, gaining a place from the past few weeks. One has to wonder if this one will ever stop selling. Mario Kart Wii slipped slightly, but still managed to finish in an incredibly healthy third place. Gaining a position to move into fourth is Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, still proving to be incredibly popular amongst punters despite being in the charts for what seems like forever. It's a similar deal with the DS mind-melter, Brain Training, moving up a place to close the week at five.

Up a place to six is the rock star's portable tool of choice (maybe) in the form of Guitar Hero: On Tour, with PS2 talking animal animated film tie-in (sigh), Kung Fu Panda, swiftly kicking its way up to to seventh place. Showing its face for the first time in a few weeks at eight is the story of Niko Bellic - also known as Grand Theft Auto IV - on the PS3. Making its chart debut is the latest game in the Buzz! series, Quiz, at number nine - far lower from the debut podium finishes that we have come to expect from the series. You can read what we think about the game here. Rounding things out for us is More Brain Training at ten.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.

Don't ask how I noticed this, but there's a discrepancy in that the PS2 Kung-Fu Panda game appears in the all format top 10 but does not appear in the PS2 top ten.

Not that I'm too concerned about Kung-Fu Panda in general, it's just slightly odd.

The chart says "Week ending June 15th" unlike the rest of them.
