This Week's Releases - 16/6/08

PALGN Feature | Crisis averted.
It has been some time coming, but Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII finally lands on the PlayStation Portable this week. Set seven years before the events of the classic Final Fantasy VII, players assume the role of Zack, an aspiring SOLDIER 2nd Class. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII features a new battle system, hours of side quests and Square Enix's signature CG cutscenes. Look out for one of the year's most promising PSP games this Thursday.

Aspiring artists can play out their Australian Idol fantasies with the second volume of SingStar on the PlayStation 3, which is released this week. The game may be purchased by itself or with two microphones, and includes the likes of Aerosmith, Eminem and The Killers. For the complete track list, click here.

Finally, Pokemon fans can pick up either Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Darkness Exploration Rescue Team on the Nintendo DS, and the next instalment in Electronic Arts' NASCAR franchise races onto the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.

Why is it that Battlefield: Bad Company, Beijing 2008, NASCAR 09, and Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword get mentions for release next week, but the biggest release of next week, Super Smash Bros Brawl, doesn't rate a mention?

Because most people imported it? I dunno why, maybe it is because a lot of people imported it. It's good that us aussies finally get the game, but gametraders have been selling it for a while with the freeloader, but I still wanna get the Pal release,
