Australian sales charts, week ending 27/04/08
PALGN News | A bunch of new entries and a new champion.

It's a brand new entry that has rushed straight to the top of the charts this week - Mario Kart Wii of course, which comes as no surprise given the immense popularity of the series amongst all age groups. Even old people like it, and we all know old people hate games. PlayStation 3 shooter Time Crisis 4 received almost as warm as a reception, taking the second slot on its debut. Making it a trifecta of new entries at the top of the charts is the Wii Sports inspired EA Playground for the DS at number three. As a result of all these newbies, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the PS2 slipped, but only one spot to four. Last week's champion, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games wasn't so lucky, falling all the way to five.
Keeping the theme of new entrants going is High School Musical for the Nintendo Wii, entering the charts at six. More Brain Training made another chart re-entry at seven, continuing to bounce around like a big yo-yo. A more obscure re-entry is at eight, in the form of Singstar Legends, despite being released in 2006. Brain Training took a big hit, dropping seven places to nine, while the DS version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games ends the charts at ten.
Coming to the charts next week: Grand Theft Auto IV.
