The video, uploaded to YouTube, bares all the irrefutable and unmistakable evidence of the claims the fansite has made thus far. It's got the RE series' mysterious Umbrella soldier, Hunk, running around and shooting things in what we're all to assume is the secret character's exclusive new scenario for a 'Resident Evil 4: Classic Edition'. And... well... that's about it really.
Indeed, before we're all too quick to cry foul of "liar, liar, pants on fire" towards Capcom's denials of there being plans for a 'Resident Evil 4: Classic Edition' "at this time", let's do as The Horror is Alive's own loyal forum members -- and understand the video's validity with common sense (preferably, without the obligatory over-analysing drama).
The wily context sensitive imagery of Xbox 360 controller buttons notwithstanding, keep in mind how easy it is for one to simply mod any other version of Resident Evil 4 released thus far, to realise the simple notion of plunking Hunk in a non-descript RE4 environment and calling it a day. The fact that the YouTube account The Horror is Alive used for uploading this 'exclusive' video is also home to other videos of Resident Evil 4 visual and character-based hacks is even more (hilariously) telling.
The fansite promises that there will be an official announcement for a 'Resident Evil 4: Classic Edition' "early next week", using Capcom's US message boards as its ironic 'proof'. The irrelevantly traditional annual day of 'look how immature this medium's industry still is' (also referred to in some rare parts as 'April Fool's Day') is also "early next week".
Our sides are practically splitting already.
