Australian sales charts, week ending 16/03/08

PALGN News | Guitars unsurped by an army.
In what has come as a bit of a shock, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has been reduced to a mere one version in the charts this week, and it's not even at number one. Taking it's place is the newly released Army of Two for the Xbox 360. Standing firm at number two is Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games - we're starting to wonder if this one will ever stop selling. Three sees the debut of, uh, Army of Two, this time on the PlayStation 3. Making a dramatic return to the charts is Wii powerhouse Super Mario Galaxy. Five sees another unexpected return, the ever-popular Pokemon Diamond for the DS.

Since you can't have one without the other, the Wii version of Mario and Sonic and the Olympic Games is sitting at six, up a place from last week. The lone Guitar Hero III bundle, for the PS2, is sitting at seven - a far cry from the four different versions in the charts over the past few weeks. Dora the Explorer: Saved the Mermaids struggled to save itself this week, dropping down two slots to close the week at eight. Nine sees a brand new entry - MX vs. ATV Untamed for the PS2. Who knew off-roading was so popular? Re-emerging at ten this week is The Simpsons Game for the DS.

The charts are updated weekly and are provided by those wonderful people at GfK.
