This Week's Releases - 10/3/08

PALGN Feature | Armies, soldiers, warriors and… Willy?

Action and shooter games are once again the genre of choice for publishers this week, with soldiers lining up for fortune, honour and revenge. First up us Army of Two, Electronic Arts' anticipated Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 third-person shooter. In the game, players assume the identity of a pair of mercenaries carrying out secret missions for a private military contractor. Army of Two is designed for co-operative play, whether it be with the AI counterpart or a friend.

After being delayed the last few weeks, Soldier of Fortune: Payback finally lands on the PlayStation 3 and PC this Wednesday. Out on the same day for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is the latest game in THQ's soldier-slaying Dynasty Warriors series. Keep an eye out for PALGN's review of Dynasty Warriors 6 in the coming days.

The final shooter of the week is Turning Point: Fall of Liberty on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is set in an alternate realty where the United States never entered World War II and Germany ultimately triumphed.
