Gears of War 2 announcement false

PALGN News | Epic denies announcing the game is in development.
One picture on the cover of the latest GamePro has sent many Xbox 360 owners into a flurry with the promise of an announcement for Gears of War 2 believed to be contained within.

Gears of War developers Epic Games hit back at the claim, with head honcho Mark Rein posting a comment on the company's official forums.

According to Rein, "It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter."

With the magazine now on store shelves, reports are filtering through that the article in question points to the game seeing a release title of 2008 (based on pure speculation). Many gamers feel that it's nothing more than a cheap plot to sell more magazines.

We all know that an announcement about Gears of War 2 is an inevitability, but rest assured, if it turned out to be true, there is no way that GamePro would have devoted the cover shot to Rainbow Six Vegas 2 over a Gears 2.
